Life Skills 7
This course uses the Positive Action curriculum to teach students valuable life skills. Students will learn how positive actions can help to create a positive self-concept. This course goes over physical, intellectual, and social skills to help students improve their self-concept. The students will learn these concepts and skills through lecture, group discussions, interactive reading activities, and hands-on activities.
Life Skills 8
This course uses the Positive Action curriculum to teach students valuable life skills. Students will review and build on the skills they learned in Life Skills 7. The course includes instruction on how to treat others and build friendships, being honest with yourself so that you can understand yourself, and ways to continually improve yourself to be the best person you can. The students will learn these concepts and skills through lecture, group discussions, interactive reading activities, and hands-on activities.
Life Skills 12
This course includes a variety of skills many students need to advance into their next stage of life. Normally this is college, however college is not the only reason for life skills studies. Many of the topics discussed will come directly from the students themselves. Students are questioned throughout the course about various skills they may feel they could use. Where practical and where safety permits, hands on training is provided. In addition, this course is used to provide an opportunity for college readiness and includes the application process, FAFSA, college representative visits, enlisting in the draft requirement, the importance of requesting letters of recommendation, etc.
